Background
Back in 2007, I bought my first DSLR in the form of Nikon D40. I loved it since it immortalized most of my journeys in my early 20s when I lived in the UK to study, capturing photos of trips after trips from Northern Ireland and Wales to western European countries i.e. the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
Fast forward to 2016, I recently made my second DSLR purchase, this time a Nikon D5500. I stuck with Nikon since I'm familiar with its interface and some of my accessories for the D40 can still be used i.e. old lens (e.g. Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G DX) and flash (i.e. Nikon SB-400 AF Speedlight).
I would like to rekindle my interest in photography, since it has be a while since I took it seriously as a hobby. The D40 is still working flawlessly, but has seen little action since the best part of the last 5 years. So, with the new D5500 (and maybe sometimes with the D40), let's hope 2016 will a great year for amazing/memorable photos.
I will post 1 (or more) photo per day as part of this challenge. I hope this can instill a sense of discipline that I need to make sure that photography becomes a rewarding hobby/habit!
